ENVIRONMEN DESUGN 1-14

WEEK 1

LEARN

In this class we will learn to understand the two basic types of perspective: one-point perspective and two-point perspective.
One-point perspective means that in a space, there is only one vanishing point. This vanishing point is usually located in the center of the frame, at the same level as the viewer's line of sight.
Two-point perspective means that in a space, there are two vanishing points. These two vanishing points are usually located on the left and right sides of the picture, at an Angle to the viewer's line of sight.
Both perspectives have a strong sense of depth and space, suitable for solemn and stable scenes.
One point perspective is often used in streets and buildings to express the layout and spatial sense of the room, but also has a clear direction.
It can better show the three-dimensional sense and sense of reality of building objects. Two point perspective is often used in the architectural appearance renderings to show the overall appearance and three-dimensional sense of the building.
In class, we look for architectural pictures with perspective effect and draw vanishing points in the pictures, so that we can better understand the architectural structure.

Reflection                                                    Perspective is very important in the study and application of environmental design
. One-point perspective and two-point perspective are the most basic perspective, which can make us better understand the truth of the near large and far small in the building, space or street, so that the building or street has a sense of space and extension, which is one of the important factors to make a picture look three-dimensional.
Therefore, in our future study, whether it is drawing or designing, we should pay attention to and understand the perspective relationship between objects and space, so that the objects will not be deformed and people's eyes will be more comfortable when looking at pictures.

 WEEK2
 Learn
In the second week of class, we explored and illustrated a variety of graphics using a unified vanishing point perspective, which transformed simple figures into more complex compositions. This approach allowed us to enhance the three-dimensionality and spatial quality of planar images, enabling a deeper understanding of how buildings can appear more three-dimensional in paintings by revealing patterns that align with our visual perception.

Reflection

Throughout this process, transforming a simple image into something more intricate fosters our creativity and enhances our ability to
accurately depict different orientations within the design when utilizing a common vanishing point.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                WEEK3
Learn                                                                                                                           In this week's course, we were fully engaged in learning drawing. We carefully drew twelve planar buildings. From the existing world-famous buildings, we extracted distinctive characteristic elements, especially the unique elements, and integrated them into our own drawings. Through our efforts, we designed twelve unique planar buildings of our own.

Reflection
This class has been extremely rewarding for me. By drawing twelve planar buildings, I not only improved my drawing skills but also learned to draw characteristic elements from world-famous architectures. This has cultivated my observation and creativity. At the same time, I also realized my deficiencies in composition and detail handling. I will study and practice even harder in the future.

WEEK4
 Learn
In this week, we have spent a lot of time and energy to make an in-depth transformation of the floor plan carefully drawn last week. We have successfully transformed it into the form of one-point perspective and two-point perspective. Through such efforts, we have a deeper understanding of the mystery of architectural perspective and greatly enrich our creative thinking.
Reflection
As a student. Transforming the floor plan into perspective drawings has enabled me to better understand the principles of architectural perspective. In practice, my creativity has also been inspired. However, I also realize my shortcomings, such as inaccurate perspective grasp. In the future, I will work harder to improve my painting skills and understanding of architecture.

 WEEK5

 Learn
In this week's course, we were fully engaged in painting. We made in-depth transformations to the flat architectural design we carefully created and drew it into one-point perspective and two-point perspective drawings. For the areas with inaccurate perspective, we carried out even more in-depth analysis and improvement, striving for perfection.
Reflection
As a student, I benefited a lot from this class. By transforming the flat architecture into perspective drawings, I deeply understood the perspective principle. When improving the inaccurate areas, I learned to observe and analyze carefully. This class not only improved my painting skills, but also cultivated my patience and concentration. Looking forward to the next wonderful class.

 WEEK6

 Learn
During the sixth week of the learning process, we devoted ourselves to in - depth study of two - point perspective drawing and simple drawing of the surrounding environment of the building. When learning two - point perspective, we started from the basic principles, deeply understood key elements such as the horizon line and vanishing points, and repeatedly practiced the direction and proportion of lines, so that we could accurately shape the object forms with a sense of space and three - dimensionality. For the drawing of the surrounding environment of the building, we began with observing the actual scene, carefully capturing details such as the posture of trees, the texture of roads, and the light and shadow of street lamps, and presenting them one by one with paintbrushes. These learning contents are like solid cornerstones, fully paving the way for extracting elements and creating unimaginable and imaginative buildings in the next class.
Reflection
We started from the principles when learning two - point perspective drawing. By understanding the key elements and practicing, we can shape the forms of objects. Drawing the surrounding environment of the building makes me focus on observing details. However, I also have shortcomings. For example, I may overlook the overall coordination when drawing perspective views.

WEEK7

 Learn
In this class, we mainly explore extracting elements from abstract and distinctive architectures. When faced with a building, we consider which useful elements to extract, such as unique geometric shapes, distinctive decorative textures and so on. After that, we use these elements to synthesize ten distinctive buildings that show individuality.
Reflection
Reflecting from the perspective of a student, this class was really meaningful. We were required to extract elements from abstract buildings and synthesize new ones, which made me learn how to find distinctive elements. However, I was lacking in creativity and was slow in the process. I need to make improvements.

WEEK8(self-study week)
Learn
During the self-directed learning week, we started to recreate the ten distinctive buildings we designed last week. After carefully examining each building, we picked out two favorite elements. For example, we selected the rhythmic curves from one building and the exterior with a highly sci-fi metallic texture from another building, and then fused them into an amazing new building.
Reflection
During the self - directed learning week, it endows me with the right to freely choose the learning content and methods. For example, when conducting independent research projects, I can dig deeper into the points of interest. However, this also tests my self - discipline and planning abilities. Sometimes, time is wasted due to improper arrangements. I need to strengthen self - discipline and learn to plan reasonably to make self - directed learning more efficient.

WEEK9

 Learn
In the class of the 9th week, the teacher optimized the pictures that we had combined two buildings into one. After carefully examining the pictures, the teacher quickly pointed out the unreasonable aspects. For example, the transition of architectural styles was not coordinated enough, and the spatial layout was a bit chaotic.

After that, the teacher started to work on further elaboration. The teacher further defined the contour lines of the building, making it more three-dimensional. For the background, the teacher added some related small elements, such as plants, distant mountains, and lake surfaces that matched the architectural style. The teacher also adjusted the overall appearance proportion to make the picture more harmonious and unified.
Reflection
After the architecture integration class ended, upon reflection, I found that my creativity had improved. Previously, when drawing indoor and outdoor architectures, I was rather rigid. But now I can break through. For example, I tried to integrate gardens with glass and water flows to construct the scenes of future cities.

WEEK10

Learn

In the 10th week of the environmental design course, it continued from the exterior design of the future city building last week. My exterior design revolved around natural green plants, flowers, water currents and many circular elements. However, when initially carrying out the interior design, the exterior elements were not well incorporated. In terms of the selection and placement of furniture, circular styles or those with flower-shaped elements were adopted to echo the exterior theme. This class made me deeply understand that interior design and exterior design are an organic whole. Only by making overall considerations from aspects such as space and shape can a building design work with coherence and unique charm be created, providing important ideas and experience references for future design practices.

 Reflection
This class made me realize that the integrity of design is of vital importance. Although I made some improvements in furniture selection, there were still deficiencies. When conceiving, I lacked in-depth thinking about the connection between the interior and exterior, and my layout planning was not bold and innovative enough. I failed to fully expand the application of natural elements. In the future, I need to improve my overall control ability, think boldly and dig deeper into the connections among elements to make the design integrate more perfectly.

WEEK11

 Learn
In the 11th week, I further refined the interior design of the future city building. The floor was paved with spiral water-flow-shaped stone tiles, as if a vivid stream was winding through the interior. The furniture design deeply incorporated elements of green plants and flowers. The table with a flower shape was exquisitely unique. Its petal-shaped tabletop edge and the hollowed-out wall decorated with green plants complemented each other, fully demonstrating the beauty of nature. The lamp was also in a flower shape. The petal-shaped lampshade opened slightly, and the soft light spilled out from it, creating a warm and poetic atmosphere. The roof was constructed with a multi-layered layout, similar to the hierarchical rhythm of the exterior. Through this optimization, all elements of the space were closely intertwined, and nature and design complemented each other. I also enhanced my control and creativity in overall design during the practice.
Reflection
There were both gains and losses in the refinement of the design in this class. Although I managed to incorporate natural elements into the furniture and decorations, making the space more distinctive, there were still deficiencies in the coordination of element combinations. For example, the application of flower elements was a bit too complicated. I realized that I lacked creativity and imagination, and when integrating elements such as natural green plants, flowers, and water currents, it was rather rigid and I failed to skillfully build an organic connection, just simply piecing them together, resulting in the overall effect not meeting expectations. In the future, I need to focus on cultivating innovative thinking and improving the ingenuity and flexibility of element integration.
WEEK12(The teacher was absent from class
WEEK13
During the thirteenth week of the course, I devoted myself wholeheartedly to the refinement of my future architectural works. For the outdoor part, I carefully adjusted the layout of the building, the clear water features and the lush green plants to make the whole more natural and beautiful. Indoors, I focused on optimizing the color matching of the space and selecting suitable soft furnishings. Through repeated polishing, the work has evolved from its infancy to maturity, and the indoor and outdoor designs have become more harmonious and unified, perfectly interpreting my vision of future architecture.
WEEK14(self-study week)
In the colored version of the future environment, outdoors, clear blue water flows around, and green plants on the banks grow vigorously, with red flowers scattered here and there. Indoors, it is embellished with blue elements, decorated with green plants, and paired with red flower ornaments, full of vitality.
